Yorkshire homebuilder supports charity close to its heart
The money, raised through a series of events, including a charity company golf tournament, will go towards the British Heart Foundation’s fundraising target of £53,000 that will enable the heart charity to purchase state of the art equipment to undertake groundbreaking surgery.
Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire sadly lost a colleague, Peter Hannon, to a heart condition last year, and the team’s efforts have helped the charity to provide Leeds General Infirmary with an echocardiograph, a machine that has the ability to display a three dimensional image of the heart structure.

Hide AdSue Green, fundraising manager at British Heart Foundation, said: “We are extremely grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s contribution, which has enabled us to complete the appeal for the echocardiograph.
“Cardiovascular disease affects an estimated seven million people in the UK every year, and without the continued support from businesses and individuals, we wouldn’t be able to continue our pioneering heart research that ensures quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.”
Founded in 1961, the British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. The work undertaken by the charity has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are helping to change the face of the UK’s fight against heart disease.
Anne Bagshaw, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, adds: “We are very proud to have made a contribution in memory of our colleague, Peter Hannon. We wanted to remember him by contributing to the charity that works tirelessly to ease the pain of people’s suffering, and we are delighted to have helped the British Heart Foundation purchase this groundbreaking machinery in the process.”
