This Sheffield wood sold for four times the guide price at auction
This is an aerial view of Usher Wood in Wharncliffe Side, Sheffield, which had a guide price of £10,000 but sold for £40,500 at auction.
The site is 1.9 acre of woodland on Main Road, next to residential property and opposite the former Oughtibridge Mill, which is currently being redeveloped.
The auction was held online by Mark Jenkinson which said the site could be of interest to local home owners.
Senior partner and auctioneer Adrian Little added: “It was purchased locally and there was considerable local interest.
"Woodland is always worth what what someone is prepared to pay.”
The wood was one of 27 lots sold in the online auction and Mark Jenkinson said deals could be concluded today for a further three properties. The total value of properties sold was £4.16 million as the city’s property market continues to boom for commercial and domestic premises, including flats and houses.
