Platts Farm, at Ughill close to the Peak District boundary, is believed to date back to 1347 and has been home to historical figures including Bess of Hardwick, a close friend of Elizabeth I.

It was used as an alehouse during the 17th century, before being converted to a farm with two adjoining cottages in the 19th century.

The property has since been rebuilt and refurbished by the current owners, while retaining a host of period features.

The sale is being handled by Blenheim Park Estates and the home is listed on Zoopla. Click here for more information.
