A new set of data has revealed the Sheffield postcodes where properties have been selling the fastest and slowest over the past year.

Property Solvers’ speed of sale tool, which you can visit here, has revealed that it takes an average of 130 days to sell a property in the Sheffield (S) postcodes.

Updated monthly, the latest dataset analysed over 1,443 property sales across the region between February 2020 and February 2021.

The statistics track the moment a property is listed on the UK’s largest property portal Rightmove to the point it’s marked as officially ‘sold’ at the HM Land Registry.

S4 has been found to be the Sheffield postcode where properties sell in an average of 98 days, making it the fastest in the city. The areas included within S4 are: Grimesthorpe, Pitsmoor, Crab Tree, Brightside. Pictured is Earl Marshal Road in Pitsmoor

Property Solvers co-founder, Ruban Selvanayagam said: “Although buyer demand hasn’t waned over the course of the pandemic, the length of time for transactions to complete has certainly lengthened.

“Operational activity has still pretty much continued, but the home sales industry – like many others – has had to learn to adapt over the last year. Many solicitors, mortgage brokers and other professionals in our sector have been working from home which has often resulted in administrative and other operational delays."

The data has revealed that properties have sold the 3rd fastest in S2, with houses being taken off the market at an average of 106 days after being put up for sale. The areas included in S2 are: Park Hill (pictured), Arbourthorne, Heeley, Highfield, Manor, Norfolk Park, Wybourn, Castleback, Deep Pit, Cutler's View, Woodthorpe, Lowfield, Heeley Green, Newfield Green and Parkway
Properties in the S8 postcode were found to sell the fourth fastest in Sheffield, with an average of 112 days. The areas included within the S8 postcode are: Batemoor, Beauchief, Greenhill (pictured), Jordanthorpe, Lowedges, Meersbrook, Norton, Norton Lees, Woodseats, Meadowhead
S3 was found to be the Sheffield postcode where properties sell the slowest, taking an average of 213 days for homes to be taken off the market. Areas included within that postcode are: Broomhall, Burngreave, Neepsend, Netherthorpe, Kelham Island, West Bar, Parkwood Springs, Wicker, Millsands, West Bar Pictured are flats on Dun Street, Kelham Island.
Properties were found to sell within an average of 149 days in S7, making it the second slowest postcode in the city. The areas included within the S7 postcode are: Abbeydale, Carter Knowle, Nether Edge (pictured), Millhouses, Beauchief
S20 was found to be the Sheffield postcode where properties sold the third slowest, with an average of 143 days for homes to be snapped up by househunters. Areas included within the S20 postcode are: Beighton, Crystal Peaks, Halfway, Mosborough, Owlthorpe, Sothall, Waterthorpe, Westfield, Plumbley, Holbrook Pictured is Mosborough High Street
S12 was found to be the Sheffield postcode where properties sell the fourth slowest, with an average of 141 days. The areas included within S12 are: Birley, Gleadless, Gleadless Townend, Frecheville, Hackenthorpe, Intake, Ridgeway, Hollins End, Highlane Pictured is Stoneacre Avenue in Hackenthorpe
