The 18th annual World Book Day took place on Thursday March 3 to celebrate authors, illustrators and books.

Taylor Wimpey has provided Leeds Children’s Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital with a wide selection of reading material for their patients to enjoy in their time of need.

The developer has also donated to schools up and down the region, including Dodworth St John’s CE Primary Academy and Elsecar Holy Trinity CE Primary Academy.

Anne concludes: “World Book Day celebrates children putting their iPads and PlayStations away to engage with materials that not only support their development, but also stimulate their brains.

“Reading is extremely important for children, and these books mean the schools and hospitals can add to their choice in the libraries and classrooms, to encourage regular reading.

“We hope the children enjoy their new selection of books and that this initiative will encourage them to develop a real passion for reading!”
