Estate agent Redbrik is marketing the properties at Burgess House off Pinstone Street, part of a block that also involves restoring Laycock House, a well-preserved late Victorian building that contains existing residences and small retail spaces.
The company has released a series of images illustrating the intended look and feel of the new high-specification apartments, which buyers can purchase off-plan with an expected completion date of September 2021.
Burgess House will offer a mixture of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, featuring expansive windows, open-plan living areas and impressive views.
Jen Beal, Redbrik's land and new homes manager, said the firm was ‘thrilled to have been appointed as the sales agent’.
“The new community is perfectly positioned for modern life and will breathe vibrancy, opportunities and style into Sheffield city centre,” she said.
Heart of the City is expected to create around 500 construction jobs and support between 5,500 and 7,000 jobs once it is finished.
Earlier this month Jen Beal said progress with Burgess House was going well and that the building was ‘absolutely flying up’.
"We're excited about bringing back really high quality properties into the city centre, which I think there's been a bit of a shortage of for quite some years,” she said.
Heart of the City began with new offices for HSBC on the site of the old Grosvenor House hotel. Its other elements include a Radisson Blu hotel, an extensive revamp of the red-framed building on the site of the old Gaumont cinema and a revival for the historic Leah’s Yard workshops on Cambridge Street, which will become a hub for independent makers.
A stylish rooftop bar and state-of-the-art ‘co-working’ office facility is also set to open next month as part of Heart of the City. The development is based at 38 Carver Street and the serviced office complex, Cubo Sheffield, is expected to open on April 1 following a £3 million investment. The bar venue, Alto, will have an exclusive VIP area and a terrace with views of the Sheffield skyline.
