The children also recently attended the official opening ceremony headed by the Mayor of Barnsley, who officially cut the ribbon at the new site when it launched earlier this year.

Having created bespoke mosaics for the bench, year five children from Hoylandswaine Primary School were invited to the development for a second time in recent months to see their artwork unveiled

The project was part of David Wilson Homes’ ongoing involvement with the school, which also saw pupils take part in a competition to name the development before its opening

St John’s Walk, which is located in the beautiful South Yorkshire countryside, has seen strong interest in the area since its launch and boasts a selection of luxurious four and five bedroom homes

Set in picturesque countryside views, St John’s Walk benefits from close proximity to nearby amenities as well as two local pubs and strong transport links

Miss Hudson, Year 5 teacher at Hoylandswaine Primary School, commented: “The children were thrilled to be able to see their hard work come to life at St John’s Walk this week. We are very proud of the artworks they made and we’re all very happy to be able to visit the development again and see the mosaics in situ.”

Debbie Land, sales adviser at St John’s Walk, commented: “It’s great to be able to unveil our new bench with the artists that helped create it in attendance – Hoylandswaine Primary School has had a big involvement with our development, having named the site, while also completing artwork that will be displayed in our new community. The development is continuing to draw interest in the area and the bench now provides a wonderful talking point for visitors.”
