Located on Hasting Road, the 6.7 acre development will provide a collection of innovatively-designed properties including two, three four and five-bedroom homes.

Work on the site has already commenced, and will create a number of sales and local construction jobs over the next 12 months. The first homes are expected to be ready for occupation in December 2016 with the overall build planned for final completion in spring 2018.

Avant Homes Yorkshire’s managing director, Mark Mitchell, said: “We are very pleased to have begun construction at Sheafdale Grange. This represents a significant investment for the business as we continue our land buying strategy of acquiring high quality sites in desirable locations, and gives us the platform for further growth as we build on the success of 2016 so far.

“Following the success of our last development in Sheffield, College Gardens, we knew that there was an appetite for high-quality new-build homes in this area. The early reaction to the site has been very positive, with over 100 people attending our recent preview evening, and lots of potential customers have already registered their interest in the development. With this level of demand it’s likely that many of the homes on the first phase will sell off-plan.”

Based in Wakefield, Avant Homes Yorkshire is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. The housebuilder currently has 11 developments across Yorkshire stretching from Leeds in West Yorkshire to Mexborough in the south of the region.

The Avant Homes group, which operates in Scotland, the North East, Yorkshire and the Midlands has a turnover of £244m and builds approximately 1,100 homes a year at an average selling price of £209,000.
