Gardeners Mitchel Ingham of JM Groundcare and Joel Berry of Berry’s Tree and Gardens are running a Christmas tree pick-up service, donating every penny raised to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Last year the duo earned over £7,000 and this year they would like to double their total.

Here’s how to organise a collection from the charitable pair.

How to organise a collection

Visit the initiative’s official website and organise a collection under the shop tab. Collections will run from January 7 to January 14.

A single tree costs £10 to pick up, while every tree after that costs £5.

Note that only postcodes S1 to S21 plus S35 are covered by the service.

How to prepare your tree

Assist Ingham and Berry by taking the following steps:

- Remove any stand or base

- Remove all decorations from the Christmas tree

- Cut it in half if it is 6ft tall or higher

- Don't place trees in plastic bags
