The contest has been launched by property firm Savills – which is offering prizes for the best imaginary house.

Entrants will be divided into three different age groups, and each has two categories. Children can either draw or paint their creation or make a model out of any materials they have at home.

The age categories are split into ‘little engineers’ – five years and under – as well as ‘junior builders’ from six to 10 years and ‘senior architects’, from 11 to 14 years.

Each category and age group will have its own champion and two runners-up. Winners will receive a £50 voucher from arts and crafts supplier Hobbycraft, while runners-up will get a £25 voucher for the same store.

Budding artists and architects simply need to take a good photograph of their creations and email the image to [email protected] with their name, age, where they live and the category they are entering, before the final closing date of April 26.

Ian Marriott, joint head of residential sales at Savills in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, said: “We have a wonderful line up of judges who are tasked with finding the very best artistic young people out there.

“There will also be another chance to win in a People’s Choice award voted on by the public so those wanting to vote should keep an eye on our social media platforms for their chance to judge the artwork.”

The winning creations will be shared with the world via the company’s website alongside its official Instagram and Twitter feeds. Full terms and conditions for the Savills Little Architects competition can be found on the firm’s website too.
