Before and after pictures reveal amazing transformation of 550k home near Sheffield

After two years of renovating this incredible home in Wales, near Sheffield, it has gone on the market for £550,000.

Nick Smith, owner of DN Buildings, and his partner Rachel bought the property on School Road, despite not actively looking to move.

They saw its potential when taking their youngest child for a swimming lesson at a nearby school.

Nick, aged 33, said: “We were happy and settled in our old house in Brinsworth, where we lived for seven years and had no intention of moving.

"It was completely by accident that we came across the house on School Road when we took our youngest swimming at Wales Primary School and saw the For Sale sign.

"It was a nice house, outdated, but we could see the potential. We moved into the property in October 2018 and spent two years renovating it, whilst living there.”

It became a labour of love as Nick did most of the work himself, often putting in 16 hour days.

“We had to take it back to the bare bricks and added a double storey side extension, single storey rear extension and new roof with a room,” he said.

"In addition we rendered, rewired, replumed, replastered and completely redecorated it.

"I completed about 70 to 80 percent of the work myself, at times working 16 hour days, seven days a week.

“We renovated the house for ourselves, to live in forever, and it is only due to coming across another property surrounded by countryside that we are selling. I

"t’s a great property for entertaining and with a decent size garden that’s fenced off, it’s safe for kids to play in.

"It is easy to commute anywhere as we’re five minutes from all the major motorways and Kiveton station is about a mile away. For all the work that has gone into it, we’ll be sad to leave and hope it is bought by someone who will look after and enjoy it.”

Terry Oxley, Local Property Expert in Sheffield for Purplebricks, said, “This property was remodelled and extended with open plan space and outdoor entertaining in mind, and the interior has been tastefully designed to suit modern trends.

"It is ideally located for commuting into Sheffield, Chesterfield and Rotherham, with easy access to the M1 and the local countryside.”

The Purplebricks brochure says: “Very desirable four bedroom executive home in the popular village of Wales.”
