A FORMER gay bar which has been closed for about two years could reopen.

The former Fuel nightspot, Eyre Street, would be open daily from 10am until 6.30am, featuring entertainment, including drag acts, podium dancers and a monthly strip show, according to plans submitted to Sheffield Council.

The application will be discussed by the council’s licensing board on Thursday.

No objections have been received to the proposals from O’Brien Leisure, Omnia One, Queen Street, Sheffield.

The plans also involve a kitchen inside the premises to sell food.

The applicant has offered to fit a CCTV system, refuse to serve anyone who is too drunk, have door staff working from 9pm and ask revellers for proof of age if they appear to be aged under 21.
