Sheffield is full of great places to eat – so it is surprising to see that the city has missed out on the Tripadvisor Awards that have been announced today.

The annual ceremony names the best restaurants in the UK and beyond.

However, no Sheffield eateries were given a mention with the closest one being La Fiesta Spanish Tapas restaurant in Doncaster.

However, here are 9 of the city’s best rated restaurants listed on the Tripadvisor restaurant.

9. Trippets Lounge Bar, city centre

Trippets Lounge Bar on Trippet Lane, is the place for live jazz and food, according to TripAdvisor users who have given the wine bar a top score. A menu of tasting plates is on offer, featuring the likes of duck breast salad, baked hake and cured meats. Picture: Marie Caley Photo: Marie Caley
