The five Sheffield pubs offering free breakfast tomorrow by following unusual dress code
Five Sheffield hostelries are offering free breakfasts to punters brave enough to wear their pyjamas to the pub this weekend.
Five Hungry Horse pubs in the city are offering a free breakfast to any locals who come down in their nightwear between Friday 11 June to Sunday 13 June.
The Hardy Pick on Broadfield Close is now joined by Sword Dancer, Handsworth; Sherwood, Sheffield; Gypsy Queen, Beighton and Drakehouse Mill, Waterthorpe, with an unusual dress code.
All brekkie fans have to do to claim a freebie is to don their best PJs, slippers or dressing gown when ordering from the pub’s new breakfast menu.
Diners will be able to choose from a menu including the Brekkie Kebab, Breakfast in Bread or the colossal Sausageness Monster – a one-metre-long curled sausage sarnie loaf smothered in red or brown sauce.
The giveaway comes after the company revealed that breakfast in bed was a luxury reserved for the younger generation, with 18-to-24-year-olds tucking into four breakfasts a month in bed, while the over 55s enjoy just one.
David Feehan, general manager at the Hardy Pick Hungry Horse, said: “Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day and should be savoured no matter how old you are, but it’s interesting to see that traditional breakfast in bed is now the preferred choice for the younger generations.
David added: “After a long year stuck at home more people are getting out and about in the mornings, enjoying breakfast on the go or treating themselves to something tasty they just couldn’t make at home.
“That’s why we’ve launched our breakfast in bed giveaway, so punters can tuck into their favourite meal of the day in their comfiest gear – and all on the house.
“We look forward to welcoming locals in Sheffield to don their best slippers and join us for a free dish from our brand-new breakfast menu this weekend.”
To redeem the free breakfast, all punters have to do is turn up at the pubs in their pyjamas between Friday 11 June and Sunday 13 June and order from the pub’s new breakfast menu. T&Cs apply.
