The local takeaways that failed their food hygiene inspections in 2025

These are the takeaways handed only a hygiene rating of ‘1’ this year.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) regularly hosts inspections of all business that serve food, rating them from 0 - the lowest - up to 5.

Thankfully, in Sheffield no takeaways were handed the dreaded ‘urgent improvement necessary’ rating of 0, however 15 were rated at only 1.

Locations with hygiene ratings of only 1 are described as needing to make major improvements.

So we’ve looked through the FSA’s websites to find which takeaways and sandwich shops inspected this year scored lowest.

On September 17, this takeaway was given a hygiene rating of 1 by the FSA. | Google
