Sheffield restaurants Ashoka and Proove raise a tasty slice of money for St Luke's Hospice
A mouthwatering mix of East meets West has raised more than £1,000 for St Luke’s Hospice.
Sheffield’s oldest Indian restaurant, Ashoka, teamed up with city pizza experts Proove throughout August.
Ashoka’s famous Taxi Driver curry was added to one of Proove’s acclaimed Italian pizza blends of smoked mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh red onion and authentic Neapolitan pizza dough.
The limited-edition pizza went on sale at Ashoka and both Proove’s Sheffield and Manchester r estaurants, raising a total of £1,172.50 for St Luke’s.
St Luke’s fundraiser Clare Collingworth said: “We were delighted that two such well-known Sheffield establishments teamed up to support St Luke’s in this wonderful way.
“At St Luke’s, we understand how important food is for well-being and nourishment.
“Thank you to Ashoka and Proove for coming together with us at such a difficult time – their support means so much to our patients and their families.”
