Sheffield's Peddler Market to expand into free entry monthly mini-festival

The popular monthly event is well-renowned for serving up some of the UKs best street food already

Peddler has spent the past 12-years cultivating a reputation as being the catalyst for Sheffield and Kelham Island’s street food obsession.

Not content with delivering a popular monthly culinary journey and a side order of music, Peddler has announced that its monthly event is being reformatted and expanded.

The organisers are expanding the food and music format, evolving from a two-stage setup with a focus on food into a five-stage monthly music festival, spread across its Kelham Island footprint – all while maintaining its ‘free-entry’ and exceptional street food ethos.

“Twelve years ago, we filled a gap that Sheffield really needed,” says Peddler owner Jordan Roberts. “Since then, it’s nourished this huge gastronomic change within the city. Now there’s food halls and street food everywhere, which is great.”

The focus on top quality street food isn’t going anywhere. But there will be a big evolution of the event's aural elements to the tune of 250% more stage-space for live music and DJs. In doing so, creating a ‘platform for curated talent with an audience they deserve’.

“I wanted to create a labyrinth of exploration like that you find at a proper festival, tread the zones, sample the delights and find your vibe.”

Finding your vibe is the key. Each stage has been envisioned with the aim to deliver a variety of genres to suit everyone.

“It’s like a mini festival,” Jordan adds. “With the likes of Tramlines and We Out Here being huge inspiration.

“There’s a car park stage, the inside main stage, a courtyard stage, the factory floor and activities happening in the basement underneath too,” says Jordan.

Peddler will continue to work with some of the best up-and-coming artists and established promoters in and across the city. So while the original focus may have been expanded somewhat the inclusive intention remains core to its principles.

“We’ll still host our street food partners, who love seeing all the Sheffield foodies,” Jordan said. “However, the changing music line up will help you… making each month even more unmissable.”

The first edition of this enhanced event ‘Peddler Reformatted’ will be kicking off June 5-6, 2026. Taking place on the usual first Friday and Saturday of each month. It promises to be a ‘sprawling, multi-space experience inspired as much by classic city festivals as warehouse parties.’
