KFC worker ‘collapsed’ during her shift before testing positive for Covid-19

The news comes after colleagues reported the worker collapsed while on shift.

Fast-food chain KFC have admitted that a worker from their Sprotbrough Road branch has contracted coronavirus.

It comes after the Doncaster Free Press received anonymous reports from colleagues at the restaurant who allege the woman who tested positive for Covid-19 collapsed while on shift on June 13 and paramedics were called to the scene.

KFC who claim this is an ‘isolated incident’ have not confirmed whether the employee who contracted the virus collapsed while working at the branch.

The restaurant where the infected staff member worked is still open, after the fast-food chain claims they have taken ‘all the necessary steps to maintain a safe, clean environment’.

But employees who wish to remain anonymous say they are still concerned about their own health and safety after they allege no self isolation measures have been implemented since the diagnosis.

A KFC spokesperson said: “A team member at our Sprotbrough restaurant tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

“This is an isolated incident and no other team member has reported any symptoms since.

“The good news is the team member is feeling a little better and is currently self-isolating – as are three others who haven’t been infected, but were in contact with the affected team member.

“We’re doing all we can to support our teams, and have taken all necessary steps to maintain a safe, clean environment for our teams and guests.”
