If all goes to plan with the Government’s “roadmap” out of lockdown, Sheffield restaurants and pubs will be able to open for outdoors hospitality from April 12.

One such estblishment that is gearing up to reopen next month is Italian restaurant, Piccolino, with “industry leading safety measures in place.”

Pepe Merdzan, Regional Operations Manager at Piccolino, said: “After what has been a difficult time for everyone, we’re pleased to share a little good news and announce that we will be reopening the doors to our beautiful restaurant for alfresco dining from April 12.

“We cannot wait to welcome the return of our loyal guests.”

The restaurant is set to bring out a new spring menu that it hopes will “satisfy all appetites.”

A spokesperson for Piccolino said guests are invited to “dine from morning through to night, soaking up the spring sunshine during daylight hours and the warmth of the restaurant’s terrace heaters in the evening.”

As per the Government guidelines, reservations for both alfresco and restaurant dining are restricted to groups of six and families of two households, with drinks permitted whilst seated.

Bookings for alfresco dining with Piccolino are open now, and those wanting to plan ahead can also reserve a table for indoor dining inside the restaurant, which is currently scheduled to be permitted from May 17.

All coronavirus restrictions could be lifted from June 21, which means there will no longer be any limit to the number of people who can meet in a group for hospitality or otherwise.

The most recent update from Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown came last week, when he confirmed there would be “no change” to the plan to lift restrictions.

He said: "We remain on track to reclaim the things we love, to see our families and friends again, to return to our local pubs, our gyms and sports facilities and of course our shops.”
