Insomnia Cookies Sheffield: Former butchers on Division Street set to become late-night bakery
A late-night bakery, serving cookies until 3am, is set to open in Sheffield city centre.
Insomnia Cookies, a famous US chain which already has more than 235 branches worldwide, has applied for a licence to open on Division Street.

It will take over the former Simmonite butchers shop, which closed in 2023, and has been empty since, should permission be granted.
Insomnia Cookies has applied to Sheffield City Council to provide late night refreshment, selling hot food and drink for consumption on and off the premises, between 11pm and 3am, Monday-Sunday.
The late-night bakery chain was founded in a University of Pennsylvania dorm room by a then student to help satisfying the cravings of fellow sweet-toothed insomniacs.
The Insomnia Cookies website states that it offers a variety of cookies, ice cream and other sweet treats in-store, for loval delivery and for nationwide shipping.
Plans were previously approved for the shop to become a new micropub, called Sommar Tap and Lounge, run by a Birmingham-based craft beer company.
