Here's where you can enjoy tea and gin in one 'unmissable' event in Sheffield pub

Here in Sheffield, we join the rest of Britain in our love of tea. We also love our gin, and it can often be hard to decide which of these most-loved drinks we want.

We will no longer have to choose, however, thanks to an event being hosted at one of Sheffield’s most popular pubs next month.

The Old House, on Division Street, have teamed up with local company Batch Tea Co. to bring a gin experience with a difference to diners. The event on Thursday November 7, will explore an infusion of gin and tea, with food to complement.

The Old House’s resident gin expert, Callum Dearden, said: “Our experience is an unmissable evening of all things gin with talks, tasters and food to complement, plus this time round, we’ll have tea and cocktails from Batch Tea Co. in the mix.

“Our in-house chefs have been hard at work creating food pairings to complement the spirits which you will get to sample throughout the evening. It’s a brilliant mix of expertise from the gin, to the tea and the food.”

The Old House’s gin experiences run monthly, and they always have a different theme. At the November event, Batch Tea Co. will bring their knowledge of tea to help craft unique flavours.

At The Old House Gin Experience, which will be hosted by Callum, attendees will be able to enjoy the Batch Tea Co.’s creations first hand, expertly infused with Sheffield Dry Gin.

The team are working on infusing Sheffield Dry Gin Rose and Jasmine with the tea, but it is not yet known which one it will be yet as they are busy experimenting to see what complements the floral flavours best of the popular limited edition Sheffield Dry Gin.

To complement the intricate flavours of both gin and tea, the in house chefs have created two delicious dishes, exclusively for the evening; fresh fish of the day encrusted with bergamot orange and coriander and a drizzle of homemade sauce and lemon and jasmine sorbet in a brandy snap, served with rose jelly.

The gin experience is a monthly event. The December event will take place on Thursday December 5, and the theme is Best of British. It will feature a round up of our favourite British gins, which will be accompanied by traditional British dishes with a contemporary twist.
