Harland Cafe on John Street, just off Bramall Lane, was the number one rated restaurant for ‘quick bites’ on TripAdvisor and was in the top five for breakfast and brunch.

But in an announcement posted on its Facebook page on Thursday, April 23, it said: “Sad day for us today, we have had to take our business into liquidation. We're remaining positive and remembering that others are having a much worse time than us at the moment. Hoping for happier times soon.”

“I don't know what to say. Gutting for all us customers, but for you?!” said one.

“All that work, all that incredible effort into making the Harland what it is. We're genuinely upset by this, as are many others as you can see from the comments. We truly hope you can bounce back in whatever way is best for you.”

Another commented: “So sad about this. You were such a welcoming and friendly place.”

A third customer wrote: “Absolutely gutted. You are our absolute favourite place for a veggie breakfast, an awesome coffee and the most friendly staff. Hope the future comes good for you.”

And a fourth added: “So sorry to hear this. Only yesterday we were planning on making Harland one of our first trips out after lockdown was finished. Wishing you all the very best for the future.”
