A personal delivery service is planned to help get items to those most in need, and a helpline will be set up for anyone who feels lonely from the effects of self-isolation.

Pub manager Damian Chapman said: “We would like to thank everyone so far for their kind donations, it’s very much appreciated. If you know of anyone who is struggling in the area, please let them know we are here to help.

“We know sometimes it’s hard to ask for help with our pride taking over, so please just direct message us or call us for a chat.”

Damian said the bar prides itself as ‘a hub of the community’.

“With this in mind, we would like to make the Loxley a donation point," he said. “If you have any spare toiletries/food you wish to donate to help the more vulnerable in our community, or are in a position to buy extra items while shopping, please contact us to arrange a drop-off.

“Please note we are not encouraging mass buying. We just want to offer support to those who may need it through this tough time. We are only a phone call away, my team and I will drop anything you need off at your doorstep.

“If you feel isolated and lonely, just pick up the phone and give us a call to speak to any member of our team. Let’s try and be positive at this time and all come together to serve our community as best we can.

“Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.”
