“We’re not doing screens, because we’re having pure table service - we’ll take your orders and payments at the table - so customers won’t need to come to the counter,” says Jonty.

“We’ll have PPE for all the staff too.

“A lot has changed in the layout, but I kind of like it, as it’s a little more open.

People who’ve been to us before will know we used to have everything out on the table – cutlery, condiments, menus – but all that’s gone now.

“We have stickers on the corner of each table with a QR code that will take you straight to the website menu on your phone. If you’d like a physical menu, we can still supply it, and they’ll be cleaned between every customer.

“On the whole, you can expect a lot more interaction with your server, who will just bring you what you need on request.

“We’ve kind of role-played all of the new systems and procedures ahead of reopening on Wednesday, so I’m sure it will all go smoothly.

“We’re expecting a lot of our regulars in on opening day, who understand us and will have a lot of flexibility with us the first couple of days, but yes we’re excited to be back.”
