The best photos as Sheffield pubs, bars and restaurants reopen

Drinkers across Sheffield raised a glass at the weekend as the city’s pubs and bars reopened for the first time since lockdown began in March.

Your local may have looked a bit different, with protective screens among the measures introduced to prevent the spread of coronavirus, but the pleasure of enjoying a freshly poured pint and some good company was reassuringly familiar.

The weekend passed off largely without incident, with most drinkers keeping their distance and obeying the rules in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Many pubs opened on ‘Super Saturday’, as July 4 was dubbed after lockdown restrictions were eased to allow watering holes to welcome back customers.

But others chose to wait a little longer, with some reopening today, Monday, July 6, and others yet to announce when they will resume trading.

Here are some of the best photos from pubs around Sheffield which reopened over the weekend.
