1. The Old Nags Head, Edale
A great way to sample some of the Peak District’s best pubs is to catch a train along the Hope Valley line - where you can hop off the train and enjoy a drink in places such as Edale, Hope, Bamford and Hathersage. The Old Nags Head is a great place to visit if you find yourself in Edale, with the pub offering great food and beers. Photo: Brian Eyre

2. The Neptune Beer Emporium, St Helens Street, Chesterfield
Behind the bar at the Neptune, you’ll find a great range of reasonably priced beers - with ale lovers sure to find something to satisfy their tastes. It also isn’t too far from Chesterfield FC’s SMH Group Stadium - making it ideal for any Spireites looking for somewhere to stop before or after a home game. Photo: Brian Eyre

3. The George, Castleton
There are plenty of great pubs to visit in Castleton if you find yourself in the village after a walk, or you’re looking for somewhere to stop after exploring one of the area’s popular show caverns. The George is my favourite - with a large beer garden that offers plenty of room to enjoy a drink and something to eat after a Peak District excursion. The pub offers everything from traditional pub food to stone baked pizzas - making it perfect for anyone visiting one of the Peak District’s most scenic villages. Photo: Brian Eyre

4. The Rutland Arms, Stephenson Place, Chesterfield
The Rutland Arms, located in the shadow of Chesterfield’s iconic Crooked Spire, is one of my favourite pubs in the town centre. They have a brilliant range of ales on offer, along with plenty of events to keep customers entertained. If you’re looking for a warm welcome and a great pint, call into The Rutland on your next trip into town. Photo: Brian Eyre
