Broncos Rodeo Bar and Grill, on West Street, has added a three-foot hotdog to its menu, alongside its regular offerings such as hefty steaks, burgers and buffalo wings.

The enormous sausage sandwich is ‘perfect for sharing’, according to Broncos – but customers are equally welcome to take on the challenge of eating an entire three-foot hotdog on their own.

“Our hotdogs start at one foot with a starting price of £6.25, the three-foot hotdogs start at £18.75 but depending on what hotdog toppings you choose, the price varies,” a Broncos staff member told The Star.

First look inside Sheffield's Browns bar – back open after a big revamp

“All our hotdogs are served with fries and appleslaw. It's perfect for sharing of course but if people are up for the challenge they can order it for themselves only - we'd love to see people take this on on their own!”

Broncos opened on West Street last year – it doubles up as a party venue and is home to a mechanical bull that guests can ride. When the bar launched in Sheffield it emerged that customers would need to take a breathalyser test and be under the drink-drive limit before mounting the device.

On Mother’s Day – Sunday, March 22 – people who treat their mum to a meal at Broncos can be in with a chance of winning £100 if their mother 'stays on the bull the longest'.

In November blogger Kate Ovens made waves when she managed to eat a three-foot hotdog in 25 minutes at a brewery in Bermondsey, London.

Kate's hotdog weighed 5.5lbs and consisted of a specially-made bockwurst sausage prepared with pork and beef. It was topped with cheese and four types of bacon; bacon jam, bacon mayonnaise, smoked pancetta lardons, and crushed Frazzle bacon-flavoured crisps sprinkled on top.

The gigantic 5,000-calorie meal was said to be enough to feed a family of four.

Kate described the hotdog as ‘absolutely delicious’, but said: "I had never seen one so big, and afterwards I was completely stuffed.

"It was pretty messy too - I ended up with sauce all over myself."
