There have been lengthy waits to book deliveries from shops like Morrisons, Tesco and Asda, while stories including Iceland are temporarily limiting website orders to customers over state pension age, those who are self-isolating and other vulnerable groups, such as the disabled.

The café and bakery on Fulwood Road in Broomhill has set up a home delivery service, providing fresh bread, patisserie items and freshly ground coffee. The minimum order is £15, except if a customer is vulnerable or self-isolating. People need to email [email protected] to register their details – staff will need a full name and phone number which they will use to call customers back.
