Christmas is about to come early for one lucky family - today we are giving away TEN of the top toys on Santa’s list, writes Graham Walker.
The total value comes to more than £400.
And by Christmas Eve we plan to hand deliver the lot direct to our winner’s door, even beating Father Christmas to the job.
There are toys here for every child.
It’s an amazing prize for children of your own, or young family and friends to make it their best Christmas ever.
Our sack full of toys will include a Zoomer Dino- Boomer (£99.99), Transformers T Rex (£89.99), Frozen Anna Doll (£16.99), My Friend Cayla (£58.99) and a Kidizoom Smart Watch (£39.99).
We also have Toot-Toot Animals Safari Park (£39.99), Bop It! Beats (£21.99), Little Live Pets Bird Cage (£19.99), Minecraft Figures, assorted, (£7.99) and Lego Minecraft Farm (£7.99).
They are the so-called Dream Toys - the most popular set to dominate sales this Christmas, as chosen by a panel of leading UK retailers and unveiled last month by the Toy Retailers Association at Meadowhall Shopping Centre.
The toys for our prize, kindly donated by the Association itself, are available from all good toy shops, including the Toys R Us branch now open at Meadowhall.
Darren Pearce, Meadowhall Centre Director said: “As a father of two I have to say it’s a terrific list.
Each year the Toy Retailers Association predicts the bestselling toys for Christmas, and we are delighted that they are unveiled at Meadowhall.
“We are a key retail destination for shoppers in the region.”
Gary Grant, Chair of the DreamToys committee, said: “Our list illustrates how diverse toys are, encouraging very different patterns of play. It’s great to see creative and sharing toys sitting alongside more traditional toys or toys that facilitate a bit of rough and tumble.
“And with nearly half the list priced under £25, the DreamToys list is relevant for all consumers this Christmas.”
Frederique Tutt, Toys Global Industry Analyst for The NPD Group added: “The British toy market is leading a resurgence in toy sales in Europe. The innovation that the industry has invested in has also started to pay back. Impulse sales of collectables and lower-priced toys are up as well as licenses from films including Frozen, and this year’s craze; Loom Bands. These two factors combined delivered the fastest growth rate in toy sales since 2010in the first nine months of 2014 which suggests that Christmas 2014 might be the best for some time.”
