* Disney on Ice – Lets Party: Motorpoint Arena, Sunday, March 10

Feld Entertainment invites families to turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one at its new ice extravaganza, Disney on Ice presents Let’s Party! Featuring 65 Disney favourite’s in one spectacular celebration. Audiences will experience the ultimate celebration of celebrations as they join Mickey Mouse and friends on a delightful tour of festivities jam-packed with fun surprises, spectacular skating and vibrant costumes. The production’s original storyline transports audiences to exciting events with their favourite Disney characters, including a Valentine’s Day Royal Ball with Princess Tiana; a Very Merry UnBirthday Party with Alice and the Mad Hatter; Jack Skellington’s frightfully festive Halloween party with the Disney Villains; and a Hawaiian luau with Lilo & Stitch. * Children’s Craft Sessions: Heeley City Farm – The Energy Centre, Sunday, March 10, 11am – 3pm

Visit Heeley City Farm and get crafty! This craft session is the perfect activity for children aged up to 10years. Please make sure you wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy! Admission is £1, under 8years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

* Mothers Day Special Event: Wentworth Castle Gardens, Sunday, March 10, 1.15pm – 4.30pm

Why not treat your Mum to a special day out at Wentworth Castle Gardens for Mother’s Day? Wentworth Castle has two different offers for Mothers Day: A Guided Tour of the House or Gardens, plus a Cream Tea for £12.50 per person, A Guided Tour of the House or Gardens, plus an Afternoon Tea for £15.00 per person. Both options include full admission to the Gardens, car parking, guided tour of either the house or gardens, tea of choice as above and a small gift for Mum. The Garden Tour starts at 1.30pm and the House Tour starts at 2.30pm. You will be served your chosen tea after your tour. Please aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of your choice of tour at the Long Barn Visitor Centre, where you will be met by one of our guides. Please book your place in advance.

* Mothers Day: Chatsworth House, Sunday, March 10

Visit the house, garden, or farmyard and adventure playground on 10 March 2013 to enjoy the mother’s day activities.This is a child friendly event Treat your mum on mother’s day with a trip to Chatsworth, on there first day of opening for 2013. In the garden, all children will be given a daffodil to give to their mum. In the farmyard and adventure playground, meet the ‘new mums’ and their babies as many of our animals currently have newborns. * Woofs and Wellies Walk: Rother Valley Country Park, Sunday, March 10

*Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering: Various Venues in Sheffield, Sunday, March 10 – 24.

The Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering is held at a range of exciting venues across Sheffield. The Festival will include the renowned National Science and Engineering Week (15-24 March) and will build on its success. Funded and organised by The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University and supported by museums and industry-education groups across the city. There will be a series of influential speakers, activities will include over 120 sessions with local schools and a programme open to the public with over 50 different demonstrations, talks and experiments to take part in. * Daily Animal Encounters: Tropical Butterfly House, Monday – Friday, 11am – 4.30pm

Encounter the exotic and experience a wild family day out at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre. Get close to free-flying butterflies and birds, as well as friendly, free-roaming farm animals. Meet the residents of Meerkat Mansion, handle exotic snakes, and feed marmoset monkeys, lorikeets and many more amazing creatures. See magnificent birds of prey and our new free-flying Macaws in our daily Aerial Antics display. Relax in the café and conservatory while the kids dig in the sandpit, take to the wheel of a pedal car or whiz along the aerial glide. * Music in the Round: O Duo Family Concert: Studio Theatre, Wednesday, March 13, 6.30pm

See percussionists, O Duo, whizz around the stage as you’ve never seen before! With a marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel, drum kit, African and Brazilian drums and a multitude of handheld percussion, the pair performs music by Bach, Phillip Glass and Chopin among others, including a special superhero medley written by O Duo and British composer Andrew Cottee. These virtuoso performers are much in demand for their performances for children and adults alike. Ticket prices: Adults £10, under 18’s & Students £5.

* Connecting with the Collections: Graves Gallery, Friday, March 15, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Are you feeling creative? Come along to Graves Gallery and find a creative inspiration with this welcoming and supportive art group. Enjoy trying out new media and techniques. Some basic materials are available or you may bring your own. This activity is suitable for people of all abilities. There will be a £5/£4.50 admission fee.

This laugh-out-loud musical adventure is the new children’s concert by Music in the Round’s Children’s Composer in Residence Paul Rissmann. When King Colin’s golden underpants go missing and the royal bottom is bared, it’s Sir Scallywag to the rescue! Brave and bold, courageous and true, he’s the perfect knight for the job… and what does it matter that he’s only six?! This musical is the perfect event for all the family. * Kitchen Rangers Cook for St Patrick’s Day: Clifton Park Museum, Saturday, March 16, 11am – 3pm

Come along to Clifton Park Museum on St Patrick’s Day and watch the kitchen rangers demonstrating their skills and cooking a section of recipes on the Victorian Range. Drop in throughout the day to watch the demonstrations held. There will be samples to try and copies of the recipes available to buy for you to try at home. There are no admission fees.
