The Topping Pie Company of Doncaster has agreed to support the Schools Technology Challenge, organised by Business & Education South Yorkshire for the fifth consecutive year.

The design and technology initiative, which aims to bring business and education together, challenges children with a real life business project.

This year, the pie makers will be working with six schools, De Warenne Academy, Denaby Main Primary School, Balby Street Junior & Infant School, Station Road Primary School, St Alban's RC Primary School and Pennine View School, which caters for special needs pupils.

Teachers visited the Chappell Drive bakery this week to take a tour.

The technology challenge will be officially launched in April when Toppings reveals this year's business project.

General manager Lynda Povey said: "We thoroughly enjoy working with the pupils because we believe strongly in developing tomorrow's talent."
