THE hunt is on for the successor to Doncaster resident Roy Johnson for the title of Good Neighbour of the Year.

Roy, aged 74, of Broadwater Drive, Dunscroft, received his award last March after neighbours told Doncaster Federation of Tenants' and Residents' Associations nothing was too much trouble for him.

The next prize will be one of several presented in the Community Spirit Awards organised by the federation, an organisation supported by St Leger Homes.

Andy Kerr, chair of the Doncaster Federation of TARAs, said: "Each year we look to highlight the achievements and selflessness of members of our community and we are inviting people to submit nominations for the awards."

Besides the Good Neighbour of the Year award other categories are the most innovative project by a TARA, Tenant Association or Tenants' Club, and the best achieving TARA.

The closing date for nominations is January 31. Email or call 01302 737490 to nominate your favourite.
