THE Great Fire of Doncaster in February 1853 is the subject of Doncaster and District Family History Society's first meeting on Wednesday January 26.
Clive Howarth's talk at the Doncaster School for the Deaf, Leger Way, remembers the fire that swept through St George's Church after the heating system got too hot because of a blocked flue.
It starts at 7.30pm and is free to members, admission is 2 for visitors.
friends of the Grand Theatre are putting on their third Twice Nightly celebration of variety theatre at Doncaster Civic Theatre on Saturday from 7.15pm, with drag artiste Lori le Verne and supporting cast. Tickets are 10.
