DELIGHTED youngsters at a Doncaster school are celebrating after it was named as one of the top performing in the country.
Hungerhill School, in Edenthorpe, has been named as one of the most improved 100 by the Government.
The Minister of State for Schools, Nick Gibb, has written a letter to the school offering his congratulations on being named as having some of the most improved exam results between 2007 and 2010, according to this month's league tables.
He wrote: "I would like to congratulate you staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success."
Headteacher Graham Wakeling was delighted with the recognition.
He said: "I am extremely pleased that the Department for Education has recognised the outstanding achievement of the youngsters at this school.
"This is due to their hard work and determination, along with the commitment and dedication of the staff, the support of parents and the strategic leadership provided by the governing body.'
