5. Skye
Breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Sex Female
Age 8 years 0 months.
Skye is a gentle older lady who is desperate for a new home. She is really sad in kennels - her favourite thing to do is snuggle up to her carers and sit in the sunshine. She could live with children aged 9+ and must be the only pet in the home. Photo: Thornberry
6. Frank
Breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Sex Male
Age 4 years 10 months.
Frank is a petite little staffy who is very affectionate and has a lovely gentle nature. He struggled to be left alone in his previous home, as he bonds strongly with his carers. He would love a home with limited leaving hours that can be increased gradually once he has settled. He could live with children, providing the get along here at Thornberry. He walks nicely on the lead and is house trained. He should be the only pet in the home but will enjoy making friends out and about. Photo: Thornberry
7. Whiskey
Breed Patterdale Terrier (Fell Terrier)/Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Sex Female
Age 2 years 10 months.
Whiskey is a very complicated little lady who needs a lot of support to help her re-adjust to home living. She needs an adult only home with experienced dog owners that can work with her to build on her confidence with new people and dogs. She must live in a quiet environment and have a securely fenced garden area to exercise. A rural setting is ideal. It is essential that Whiskey has no leaving hours initially, and they must be built up very slowly with realistic expectations that she really struggles to be left alone. Whiskey is a fantastic little project dog, given the right environment and training she has so much potential. Photo: Thornberry
8. Toby
Breed Bichon Frise
Sex Male
Age 10 years 4 months.
Toby is a complicated little chap who will need a very understanding new family. His new home will ideally have a large garden space where Toby can potter - he has on going medical issues for which he will need ongoing treatment. His new owners should have experience with dogs and will need to visit the Sanctuary several times to build a good relationship with him. Toby should have his own space in the house where he can be left to sleep and eat - he should live with adults only (maximum 2) and must be the only pet in the home. Toby is very affectionate on his terms! but certainly not a lap dog. He has had a very sheltered life so it does take some time to gain his trust.
