Born out of her love to help others, this book has been lovingly crafted over decades to please. In fact, some of the recipes are nearly 100 years old, well tried and tested, but perhaps forgotten in this modern era.

Anne said: “Whilst some of the recipes originated in far flung places, all the ingredients were bought in and around Chesterfield where I live, in Derbyshire we do have a wonderful selection of home grown ingredients, whether it be on the hoof, in the feather, swimming in the rivers or growing in the soil.“Also, there are many suppliers and artisans preparing these raw ingredients for us to use or producing delicious food, to save us the time and energy if we so choose. At the back of the book there is a list of a few of the ones that I know of but I guarantee there will be many more.

“This collection of recipes date back to both my grandmothers’ time in the 1920s and 30s right up to Masterchef winners. Wherever I can, I’ve accredited each recipe to its rightful owner, where there is no name it means that I jotted it down from some long forgotten source.”

All the proceeds to go Sheffield Children’s Hospital for very personal reasons.

Speaking about the charity choice Anne said: “One of my earliest memories is standing on the wall, clinging to the railing in front of the hospital waving to my big brother who was recovering from a broken leg, which he broke whilst giving me a piggy back in the 1950s.“Also in memory of our eldest son James, who convalesced there after brain surgery at the Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. Both hospitals continue to do so much for the people of this area and beyond.”
