‘Britain’s best country fair’ was being launched today at Chatsworth by the Duke of Devonshire and Lord Sebastian Coe.
Up to 90,000 people are expected to flock to the house and country park today, tomorrow and Sunday for entertainment which ranges from sheepdog trials to a flypast by the Red Arrows acrobatic display team.
Former athlete Lord Coe, who grew up in Sheffield and chaired the London 2012 Olympics organising committee, has been appointed president for this year’s fair at the Duke’s home.
The fair’s programme includes displays by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the Dancing Diggers.
Celebrity chef Mary Berry was due to appear today.
