The festival, which runs from May 30 to June 1 in the town’s Pioneer Club, will feature a bar set-up with local CAMRA members showcasing a range of around 40 cask ales, and a dozen traditional ciders – many sourced from local brewers and producers.

The team from Sheffield’s Bar Stewards bar & bottle shop will also be in attendance hosting an outside craft beer bar with some more exotic option,s pouring from keg taps, cans and bottles.

The Pioneer Club’s own bar will remain open for the festival and as well as offering a range of wines, spirits, soft drinks and mainstream ales and lagers, it will be serving bar snacks and light meals to keep visitors satisfied

All beers, ciders and perry will be served in a Dronfield Beer & Cider Festival commemorative glass, which drinkers can buy and keep or hire and return.

Live music will also feature, with Do$ch performing their brand of Rhythm & Blues on Friday night, and Flat Foot Sam bringing a bit of bar room boogie to the proceedings on Saturday night, whilst on Saturday afternoon the Ireland Colliery Chesterfield brass band will be playing.

Also on the Saturday, a number of local pubs, breweries and shops across the Dronfield area will be joining in with their own independent events to form a festival fringe – featuring beer, cider, food and music. Venues taking part include the Coach & Horses, Victoria Inn, Dronfield Beer Stop, Wine World, White Swan, Manor House Hotel, Blue Stoops, Jolly Farmer, Hyde Park Inn, Drone Valley Brewery and Miners Arms.

This festival fringe, combined with the CAMRA event, replaces the established and popular’ 3 Valleys Festival’ which had taken place at the beginning of June for the past nine years, launching in 2010.

Admission to the event, with glass deposit, is £5 per person, with a discount on Thursday night, Firday daytime, and for CAMRA members.

Volunteer staff are still needed to help run the festival, which is entirely organised, managed and staffed by volunteers to share their love of good beer & cider.
