‘The King’ to help launch new book on famous club

Elvis is coming to Sheffield – well sort of.

Europe’s best Elvis impersonator is to perform a show to celebrate the official launch of a book about Sheffield’s legendary Fiesta Club.

Neil Anderson’s book No Siesta ’Til Club Fiesta tells the story of how close the real Elvis came to playing in Sheffield.

Neil said: “Todd Slaughter, the voice of Elvis in the UK at the time, confirmed Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker actually gave the Fiesta show his full blessing and instructed Slaughter to take the offer direct to Elvis. But due to Elvis’s increasingly erratic behaviour and drug dependency the Fiesta gig never happened.”

n Elvis at Club Fiesta is at Genting Casino Club on Sunday, December 1. Tickets are £16 which includes a meal and £5 casino chip.
