Have your say

Welsh super star Katherine Jenkins made her second triumphant City Hall appearance this year - and gave the audience a rousing start to Christmas.

The mezzo-soprano, so dedicated that she refuses to speak 36 hours before each concert to protect her voice, enjoyed a great rapport with her followers as she rattled off a series of joyous songs from her festive album, This is Christmas.

And she also thrilled us with a medley of Welsh songs plus old favourites such as Pie Jesu and her final encore Time to Say Goodbye.

Katherine wore a series of her customary stunning dresses, my favourite a long red number with yards of fluffy train.

She strutted confidently across the stage like the supreme professional that she is in a show full of passion and enthusiasm.

A duet of Oh Holy Night with impressive guest, America -based singer-songwriter Nathan Pecheco, was a highlight as was a surprising choice in her Welsh medley, the old Tom Jones number Delilah.

The evening finished off with a Christmas sing-a-long with the audience, who enthusiastically joined in with O Come All Ye Faithful, Ding Dong Merrily on High and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

Katherine, a star twice over in America this year with her success on Dancing with the Stars and a tour with Andrea Bocelli, obviously loves every minute.

And so do we, Katherine!

See you next April with Il Divo at the Arena.

Katherine was accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis.
