The Secret Garden,
Bolsover Castle

Join young Mary Lennox on her journey of discovery as she travels to her uncle’s house deep in the Yorkshire countryside.

The unexpected friends and magical creatures that she meets there help her unlock the mystery of the secret garden.

This most enchanting story, loved by children and adults alike, has been adapted from the classic children’s book by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Mary, who arrives from India, is a bit of a spoiled brat at first but her adventures change her outlook on life.

A Chapterhouse Theatre spokesperson said: “Alive with music and song and an array of specially-designed puppet creatures, Mary’s story and The Secret Garden promises to capture the very spirit of summer and to be one of the highlights of the open-air garden theatre season.”

Thursday’s show is suitable for children.

Doors open at 6pm and the performance starts an hour later.

The show will generally go on even if it’s raining, so it’s advisable to be prepared for the British weather!

Also bring a picnic blanket or low-back chair to watch the performance.

Most people enjoy a picnic in the gardens as a part of the event.

Book tickets by calling 0370 333 1183.

They are also available on the door on the day.
