MEMBERS of Barnsley’s Polish community are being asked to share photographs and memories of their lives in the town at an event run by the council.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 4, at the Central Library, Shambles Street.
The aim is to bring together Polish immigrants and their descendants who moved to the area after the Second World War, to reminisce, share their stories and show their photographs.
The new Barnsley Museum and Archive Centre, due to open in 2012, wants to cover all aspects of Barnsley history, and wants to hear from those who have arrived and settled in the area.
The event will be in the Archives and Local Studies Department, on the top floor of the library, from 1pm to 4pm.
