This show fuses movement, theatre and media visuals, using physical theatre, hip hop and contemporary dance to ask the question: are we all entitled to freedom and free will?

Tomorrow’s show is a world premiere ahead of a European tour.

Local artist, and ex-trainee director at Cast, Ryan LoGisTic Harston and his Urban Conceptz Theatre look at the best and worst of human nature.

They touch upon tragic and monstrous events of the 20th century to explore people’s fight for freedom and whether free will should be granted to all.

Created and produced in association with Cast, The Freedom of Freewill features established local dance artists Nathan Geering, the artistic director of Rationale productions, and Anthony ‘Discreet’ Bayou of Limited Edition.

They have worked with an international ensemble of dancers.

Ryan said: “I take major influence from urban dance styles, settings and surroundings which I fuse with my obsession of movement and my understanding and education in theatre and music”.

He has travelled the world working with artists such as Sean Paul, Kelis and Mario and established hip hop artists such as Jonzi D, Ken Swift and Benji Ried. He has also showcased his own work at Dance London, Breakin’ Convention and Apollo Theatre, London.

In 2013 Ryan became the trainee director at Cast, working as the assistant director on the opening production of The Glee Club and its first panto, Cinderella, as well as playing the title role of Pinocchio in a contemporary adaptation.
