Sheffield-born Michael Palin is among the comedy greats honoured on a special stamp collection.
The comedy legend features alongside the rest of Monty Python team, whose stamp features The Ministry of Silly Walks in the background.
The Royal Mail has marked April Fools’ Day by issuing a set of stamps featuring an all-star cast of faces who have brought wit and laughter to millions.
The stamps focus on widely recognisable performers from the tradition of stand-up and sketch shows, dating as far back as the 1940s.
The others featured include Ernie Wise, Norman Wisdom, Spike Milligan, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, The Two Ronnies, French and Saunders, Victoria Wood, Lenny Henry and Billy Connolly.
Royal Mail said its vans operating in the locations with strong links to the comedians will feature an image of the relevant stamp on the side.
Andrew Hammond, head of stamps and collectibles at Royal Mail, said: “This set of stamps rightly pays tribute to the comedians who have made the nation laugh out loud at their ground-breaking comedy genius.”
