Have your say

Cast X, 99 Mary Street

This unique craft social evening allows participants to create one-off jewellery pieces at inspired venues across the city.

The events are held once a month and the idea is to create the design for a one-off silver ring, using a speical wax ring mould, that is then produced as a piece of jewellery by the team.

The people behind the event say: “Cast is a unique concept.

We blend an individual’s creativity and wildest imagination with our jewellery knowhow.

“All done in an exciting space alongside great people!

“Once your ring has been carved in jeweller’s wax, we then cast in solid silver and finish each piece by hand at our studio in Sheffield.

“Each piece is packaged and delivered within two weeks.”

While the participants are beavering away to create their designs, a team of cooks are rustling up
special dishes to feed their creativity.

Dinner is classic mussel dish moules marinières plus fragrant coconut moules, served with chips and washed down with a crisp chilled Prosecco.

The next event is at the design studio and art space in a renovated factory just off Shoreham Street near the city centre.

The event starts at 7pm this Saturday and the price is £80, which includes the cost of the
jewellery you make and the food and drink.

Tickets are very limited so early booking is advised.

There’s another event taking place in the same venue on Thursday, September 15.
