Sports centre bosses in Sheffield are to honour the city’s newest world champion by inducting her into their Hall of Champions.
Shelley Rudman, who trains at the English Institute of Sport and iceSheffield, is the first British female to win world skeleton gold in St Mortiz, Switzerland.
Sheffield International Venues which operates both facilities, is planning to honour the achievement by inducting the 31-year-old into its Hall of Champions, which also features Jess Ennis and Kelly Holmes.
Lorenzo Clark, operations director at SIV, said: “What Shelley has achieved is incredible so it is fitting she should be honoured in our Hall of Champions.
“It was created to celebrate the athletes who have trained with SIV on their way to world or Olympic success.”
