AN EVANGELICAL church in Sheffield has celebrated its 20th anniversary with the help of 1,700 people, a symphony orchestra and martial arts dancers.
Hope City Church brought together its six UK congregations at City Hall to celebrate the milestone.
The night started with performances from the orchestra and Hope City Band. The Hope City Theatre Company also performed, as stories of members of the congregation telling how the church had made an impact on their lives were broadcast on a big screen.
Bryan Western, conductor with Harrogate Symphony Orchestra, said: “I was really impressed and pleased with how the music came together. It sounded wonderful.”
Pastor Dave Gilpin said: “It’s been a great night celebrating all that’s happened so far in the life of our church.”
