Hundreds of people paid a visit to Sheffield’s Portland Works to enjoy the attractions at its second cutlery and craft fair.

The event was based on the theme of ‘Sharpen Up’, which meant members of the public were able to have blunt knives, chisels and household tools made sharp again by craftsmen.

Children got the chance to use crossbows which fire ping-pong balls - a recent venture for Jono and Ben Daniels, young tenants at the restored factory - while antiques enthusiasts queued to have their treasures valued by experts.

Tea and cakes were served throughout the day, while the gin sampling stall also proved popular. The event raised £2,000 for the works’ building fund.
