Skoda has announced full details of its first bespoke all-electric car, promising its Enyaq iV will offer a range of up to 316 miles, 125kW charging and introduce a “bold new era in Skoda design and engineering”.
The Enyaq iV is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform and is positioned to take on other all-electric SUVs such as the Kia e-Niro and Hyundai Kona Electric.
At around 4.6m long and 1.87m wide, it’s larger than both of those but smaller than Skoda’s Kodiaq SUV. However, Skoda says the Enyaq iV will offer comparable interior space to the Kodiaq thanks to the EV platform’s packaging, with up to 585 litres of boot space and dozens of family friendly storage solutions.
The Enyaq iV will initially be available in the UK with two battery/motor options and two-wheel-drive, with more powerful four-wheel-drive variants joining the line-up later.

Entry level 60 models use a 62kWh battery to power a single 132kW (177bhp) motor which drives the rear wheels. WLTP testing puts the Enyaq iV 60’s range at 242 miles on a single charge.
The Enyaq iV 80 increases battery capacity and motor power, with an 82kWh battery and 250kW (210bhp) motor powering the rear wheels. The bigger battery brings a maximum range of 316 miles.
When they arrive, four-wheel-drive variants will use two motors and the larger 82kWh battery pack. The 80x features two motors producing a total of 261bhp while a vRS variant boosts that further to 302bhp, promising a 0-62mph time of 6.2 seconds. Both will offer a range of up to 286 miles.
All Enyaq versions will offer at least 50kW rapid charging, with the option to upgrade this further. Buyers can specify 100kW DC charging for the 60 and 125kW DC charging for the 80, allowing them to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 38 minutes.
Trim levels take a detour from Skoda’s standard naming convention and are strangely furnishing-inspired, with entry level cars coming in Loft spec, and the option to upgrade to Suite or Lounge.
Starting at £33,450 before the Government’s plug-in car grant, all Loft-grade 60 models come with 19-inch alloy wheels, a 13-inch free-standing infotainment system, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, keyless go traffic sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking. Stepping up to Suite (and extra £1,285) or Lounge (£1,115) adds leather upholstery and alternative decor panels.
Opting for the higher-powered 80 costs £5,500 more and adds chrome detailing, front parking sensors and a rear-view camera for your £38,950. Different 19-inch alloys and a heated steering wheel are also additions to the Loft trim, with the Suite and Lounge upgrades also available.
At the top of the range, the £49,995 Founders Edition brings 125kW DC charging, 21-inch alloy wheels, an illuminated front grille with “LED Crystal face”, adaptive Matrix LED headlights and a unique black leather interior design pack.
Order books for the Skoda Enyaq iV will open in the UK in late 2020, with the first cars due for delivery in spring 2021.
