The charity homes the animals, some of which were abandoned or whose owner passed away, at a centre on Stadium Way.
Regardless of how they end up there, the animals are looked after until a new home can be found.
The RSPCA also offers advice to people who already own pets but may be struggling to cope with the cost of food or healthcare.
The round up includes a duo of kittens who love chasing each other and another pair of cats who love to bump heads with their owners.
Here are around half of the centre’s animals that have not yet been matched up with their forever home.
You can find even more animals in need of a family on the Sheffield RSPCA branch’s website.

5. Fern
Fern is a seven-year-old Lurcher who is an absolute sweetheart. Typical of her breed, she doesn't know her size and wants to be a lap dog! She wants to please everyone, and is very bright. She can be a bit picky with which other dogs she wants to be around, but is very affectionate with people. | RSPCA

6. Goose
Lovely goose, a one-year-old Bull Terrier, sadly had to return to the shelter through no fault of his own. He loves everyone he meets and loves fusses, and is a happy soul. He picks up training well and is very clever, although he can have the odd tantrum, and would do well with more training from his family. | RSPCA

7. Ghost and Teddy
This little duo can both be very sweet and affectionate, but need a little time to settle and get used to new people. Both of them enjoy gentle fusses and head bumps. They are bonded and looking for a new home together, possibly with older, cat-savvy children. | RSPCA

8. Wilbur
Wilbur came to the shelter after his owner sadly passed away. He enjoys people's company, but doesn't always want fussing, as an independent little man. He could live with older children who can respect his boundaries, and with a cat of a similar temperament. | RSPCA
